People are trained to be sales professionals, doctors, mail carriers and more, but unfortunately few people are trained to be parents. Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky funds parent education and support groups spanning the Commonwealth. Through the Parent Education and Self-Help Program, Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky not only provides funding but training and technical assistance to agencies serving parents.

PCAK has been the umbrella organization for statewide parent education, support and self-help groups for more than 37 years. Through this program, parents are able to discuss common concerns and challenges they face as caregivers. Parents learn the basics of child development and the needs of their children. Last year, 9,680 caregivers were served through Parent Education programs across Kentucky.
